Meet Our Team

Diane Blaising, Au.D., FAAA

Board Certified Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Blaising’s advanced training and experience allows her the privilege of doing what she loves most: helping people overcome difficult hearing losses.

Dr. Diane Blaising began her career in audiology in 1992. She received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the Arizona School of Health Sciences, having previously earned her master’s degree in audiology from the Callier Center for Communication Disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas. She has years of experience working with hearing-impaired adults and children in otolaryngologists’ offices in Louisville, KY. Moreover, as a pediatric audiologist at the Louisville Deaf Oral School, she served preschool children who were deaf or hard of hearing.

Dr. Blaising is board certified in audiology by the American Board of Audiology. She is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association, Academy of Doctors of Audiology, the American Academy of Audiology, and the Texas Academy of Audiology. In addition, Dr. Blaising has twice been given the Ace Award for continuing education.

“Choosing a hearing professional is one of the most important decisions someone with a hearing problem can make. Since a hearing aid cannot be prescribed like eyeglasses, proper hearing aid recommendation and fitting highly depends on the judgment and skill of the professional selecting the instrument. We test your hearing; select and dispense the hearing instrument best to meet your needs; and provide support, counseling, and service of the hearing system. We are concerned about you and make hearing solution recommendations to fit your lifestyle and personal needs,” says Dr. Blaising.

Dr. Blaising and her husband (both fifth generation Texans) are active members of First Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. Her husband serves at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. They have two children. Dr. Blaising and her daughter are both members of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Heather Dean, Au.D., FAAA, CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Board Certified in Audiology

Dr. Dean’s passion for helping others hear their best begins on personal a level: Her mother has a unilateral ototoxic hearing loss. She dedicated her life to the profession because she wanted to be able to help her mother hear better one day.

“I love being able to help people hear better. That may sound cliché for an audiologist, but I love when they come back and tell me stories of hearing a light switch click, a blinker click, or the birds chirp — all of these sounds they didn’t realize they were missing,” says Dr. Dean.

Originally from Alabama, Dr. Dean worked for three years in an ENT office in Alanta, GA. She came to Texas to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Her current position came about through networking on her first visit to the campus. Our practice is the perfect place for her because our values align. We encourage each other in both our professional and personal lives, and we do the same for our patients.

An alum of the University of Alabama, she loves Crimson Tide football. She’s a true southern belle at heart and is enjoying exploring Texas, which she says has welcomed her with open arms.

“I have worn hearing aids for more than 25 years,” says Joyce, Cityview Audiology’s practice liasion. “The mix of my own experience and my past work with the senior population has made this position a great fit for me.”

Joyce’s passion for learning and service has always lighted her path. Her experience includes serving as an assistant executive director of Senior Citizen Services of Greater Tarrant County and as a CaptionCall® trainer. She volunteers with the Hearing Loss Association of America’s Fort Worth chapter and currently sits on the board as Program Chair.

Joyce earned a bachelor’s degree in studies in aging at the University of North Texas, where she received an Outstanding Academic Award. She also counts her Cityview Audiology family as an important part of her lifelong education. Says Joyce, “I have learned so much since being a part of this team.”

Amy Summers, Front Office Staff

Cityview Audiology & Hearing Aids, Inc.

Amy Summers believes that our strongest asset as a practice is the commitment and love that every staff member shows to our patients in order to meet their hearing needs. She knows how important this kind of care is on a personal level, as she has a daughter with a severe hearing loss.

Before moving to Fort Worth in June 2015, she worked for Cox Sinclair & Sheridan, Attorneys at Law, in Rusk, TX, for eight years. With more than nine years of experience as a paralegal, she came to us with little knowledge of audiology but a passion for helping others. Working here has helped her learn about hearing loss and how important it is to treat it.

“What I love most about this job is meeting all of our patients and seeing their quality of lives changed for the better. I also love working with our wonderful staff!” says Amy.

She and her husband have five children and one grandbaby, who has stolen her heart. The Summers love to minister to the needs of others. As often as they can, they participate in local North American mission trips and international mission trips.
